Happy New Year!

January Meeting – Jan. 7th

We will celebrate Distaff Day at our January meeting. Distaff Day, also called Roc Day, is the day after the feast of the Epiphany. In many European cultural traditions, women resumed their household work after the twelve days of Christmas. The distaff, or rock, used in spinning was the medieval symbol of women's work.

For lunch we will create a stone soup. Everyone should something to put into the soup pot and while it cooks we will have fun spinning. There will be some competitions created by Georgean with prizes for your efforts. So do bring your spinning wheels.

Clean out your stash of unwanted items and bring your things to sell or give away at the meeting. We all have some things that are no longer needed and can be used by someone else. Yarns that we had too much of, books that are no longer needed by you, but a new fiber person can use them – so bring them along.
